Safety alerts: Extreme weather conditionsFollowing the recent weather event where heavy seas, large well and high winds and rainfall were experienced across the coastal area, rock shelves, beaches and estuary crossings may be dangerous and impassable. Similarly many of our roads and trails have been damaged or are blocked by fallen trees.
Assessments are currently being conducted across the Eurobodalla area by our NPWS staff for related damage. Many creek crossings are continuing to see flood level water flow, roads and trails are closed and impassable, and beach access points have been washed away.
Exercise extreme caution if entering the Parks and consider postponing your visit. Please follow all directives of staff and road signage and do not enter areas that have been closed.

npws.eurobodalla@environment.nsw.gov.auClosed areas: Public Notice - Upgrade Works to Picnic Point CampgroundThe National Parks and Wildlife Service is undertaking essential upgrade works in Mimosa Rocks National Park within the Picnic Point campground.
The construction project includes replacing the fencing and bollards within the campground.
Construction works will commence Tuesday 10th June 2025 and are expected to be completed by Monday 15th July 2025 – subject to weather and construction timelines. For public safety, the Picnic Point campground will be closed during this time.
Alternative locations that provide a similar experience for park users include the Aragunnu and Middle Beach campgrounds.

Safety alerts: Gillards Beach access steps closed until further noticeThe 5 southern beach access points and the day-use steps at Gillards Campground are currently closed due to severe erosion. Successive large seas have removed large amounts of sand from the beach resulting in these access points being unusable.
Park users staying in sites 1 to 28 should use the beach access steps to the north instead which is easily accessible via a short walk.
Beach access steps for sites 28 to 39 currently remain open.

Closed areas: Nelsons Beach Road and Wadjurda Road closed due to road worksNelsons Beach Road and Wadjurda Road will be closed from 7th July until 25th July 2025 due to roadworks.
For public safety, please avoid entering this area for the duration of the works.

Other planned events: Notice of 1080 ongoing baiting programNSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program from Monday 3 March 2025 to Monday 29 September 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and/or foxes.
The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species and will take place in:
- Araluen Nature Reserve
- Badja Swamps Nature Reserve
- Beowa National Park
- Berlang State Conservation Area
- Bondi Gulf Nature Reserve
- Bournda National Park
- Bournda Nature Reserve
- Coolumbooka Nature Reserve
- Deua National Park
- Eurobodalla National Park
- Kooraban National Park
- Majors Creek State Conservation Area
- Mimosa Rocks National Park
- Monga National Park and State Conservation Area
- South East Forest National Park
- Wadbilliga National Park
Signs will be placed at the entry to baiting locations. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands.
Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.
